What To Do if Your Commercial Solar Lights Aren’t Working
Solar lighting is a wonderful option for commercial businesses. The lights are often low-maintenance and have long lifespans, and many companies appreciate that they're good for the environment and reduce energy consumption. However, you may step outside one day and notice your solar lights are off when they should be running. If you're wondering what to do if your commercial solar lights aren’t working, here are some common fixes.
Clean the Solar Panels
One of the most common concerns with solar lighting is that they may be in a position where they don’t get enough sun. If your lights are working fine one day but not the next, it may be the result of an obstruction. Take some time to check the condition of the solar panels on your lighting fixtures and see if there are any blockages or if they need cleaning. In many situations, clearing the panel may solve the problem with little additional effort.
Check and Replace the Battery
When deciding what to do if your commercial solar lights aren’t working, another significant factor to consider is the battery. Many solar lighting fixtures store energy in batteries, which may last for a long time but need replacing over time. Try replacing the battery in your fixture to see if that solves the problem.
Other Possible Solutions
If your solar panel is free of obstructions and your fixture has fresh batteries in it but is still malfunctioning, you may have a faulty unit and need to contact the manufacturer about getting a replacement. Before you do that, there are a few other things to check that may provide an easy fix. Many solar lights have a designated ON/OFF switch that may have gotten bumped or adjusted. Always make sure your lights are set to the ON position. You may also have battery tabs in place that need removal when you're using the lights for the first time.
